Special events in February 2017

Some of our Bay Area groups are holding special events this month to look at interesting relationship or personal growth topics for just a week or two (unlike our video series that often last several weeks. It’s a great time to “try out” one of the groups. or come back if you’ve been away. Please come, and please refer anyone that might be interested!

donate-buttonThe format of each group is the same: a brief opening, the video or speaker, some announcements, a short break, and then time in supportive, confidential support/sharing groups to reflect on what’s been heard and, as desired, to talk about everyone’s ownrelationship journey, situation, struggles and hopes. There is no charge for any of our events, although we appreciate either online monthly contributions or one-time gifts to the non-profit Divorce and Relationship Recovery Network that supports them.

Also on Sunday the 12th, husband-wife team Les and Leslie Parrott are offering a webcast event called “Fight Night.” They are the co-founders of the Center for Relationship Development at Seattle Pacific University – a groundbreaking program dedicated to teaching the basics of good relationships. Unfortunately the closest webcast down-link for Bay Area people is in Monterey, from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at Shoreline Church. The event is free but pre-registration is required. “Round One” is called “Why We Fight,” and “Round 2” is “How to Fight a Good Fight.” That includes:fight_night_250w.jpg

  • Learn the Secret to Keeping a Cool Head and a Warm Heart

Nicole Moyer is a friend of Divorce and Relationship Recovery and is offering a four-week “Divorce Planning” workshop at the Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Center beginning on Tuesday, February 28. Whether you are merely contemplating divorce or are in the midst of it right now, this course will provide you with the insight, tools, and resources to help you make important decisions, effectively manage your case, understand Santa Clara County’s family court system, and to potentially save you thousands of dollars.
